Process for the projects to be submitted to the Board for the CBFF

  1. Concept notes prepared by clients (NGOs, Governments, other technical partners, Civil Society Networks, etc.) to be submitted to the CBFF Secretariat.
  2. Screening of the concept notes based on the criteria defined for the fund.
  3. Successful applicants invited to submit a full proposal.
  4. Appraisal and recommendations prepared by Secretariat for Governing Council.
  5. Approval/rejection recommendations from the Governing Council to the Secretariat.
  6. The Secretariat will work with the recipient to finalise the project document based on the Bank format, showing technical and economic viability and sustainability.
  7. Submission for the Bank review process by the Secretariat (Review by the Country team, Peer review and then Operations Committee (OPSCOM).
  8. Transmission for approval to the Director of OSAN or the Vice-President OSVP or the President or the Board of Directors based on the amount of the project (Delegation of Authority - Thresholds set for approval of projects by different instances).
